Paddington Bear by Michael Bond is a wonderful book that brings a lot of curiosity and joy to the readers.

Michael Bond is a well known author that wrote series of children's books. For example, he wrote a series about the Paddington Bear, being in a tower, or going to town, things like that. He wrote multiple different types of children book series that are well known and appreciated.

This book is about a bear that a family found while picking up their daughter from Paddington Station. They see the scared bear hiding in the bicycles, and they approach him asking if he is alright. The bear says that he had to leave Peru because of how dangerous it was and that he has been sneaking in here to be safe. On his jacket he had a tag that said "Please look after this bear. Thank you". The family lands out taking the bear home to keep it safe, and give it some food, and let the bear take a bath. They decide to name the bear paddington because that is where they found him. They take him home and give him a bath with which he has so much fun and doesnt know what to do, he lands out making a mess and yelling for help because he did not know to unplug the drain.

This book is absolutely amazing, I love it and believe it is perfect to read to children. I think this book can really keep children interested and give an inspiring idea about helping people out. They may not find a friendly bear to help out but there are plenty of people that can use some help. Its truly a great book.

  1. This sounds like an excellent book! I like that it has a dual message about kindness. It teaches kids to show kindness to animals. And it has an underlining message about showing kindness to other people. This is very important for children to learn early on. All together a great book!

  2. This book seems really cute. I remember reading a book about paddington as a kid, but I'm not sure if this is the one. I like how you pointed out that this book could be an opener to a lesson on helping others. That sounds like a great idea. This book seems like a cute and fun way to introduce an important topic.

  3. This book sounds absolutely adorable. I think it's a great book to show children to help people out (only with adults, of course), like you said. It can also show that taking care of another living creature is a lot of work, so it would be great for parents to read to children if they want a pet, because we all know a puppy is disaster area waiting to happen.

  4. I love how excited you are about this book! It does sound like a super cute book to read to students to really think about helping others out! I love your comment about how we may never find a friendly bear to take care of but there are plenty of people that need our help. This is very true and a great lesson to be taught through the story of a bear that freaks out when taking a bath. Super cute book. :)
